Week 5 in Our Classroom

Hi,

It was lovely to see so many parents at our information session on Monday afternoon. For those that missed the meeting here is a brief outline of what we talked about.

In Maths, the kids have been working hard to build on their knowledge of equivalence and deepen their understanding of patterns. We've also worked hard to improve our skills when reading the time.

During literacy we're learning how to 'hook' the reader in. Our reading groups have commenced and the children are working well independently to improve their comprehension skills.

3/4B Term 1 Week 5 + Parent Information Night +homework docs.

The class have been working as budding artists this week, learning to sketch with pencil and then apply watercolour washes to some terrific leaf observations.

We've also finished our Sphero bridge building challenge where students had to build a 45cm bridge that allowed a Sphero robot to drive across it. The bridges were also weighed to identify the lightest and strongest construction -  there was plenty of making fun!

Please find attached the homework grid for the term, a summary of the parent information night and a list of iPad apps required for iPad users.
