Week 9 in Our Classroom

It's a busy week ahead.

Harmony Day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities will be held on Monday between lunch and recess. It looks like an exciting day and a great opportunity for the kids to celebrate the cultural diversity within our school. Harmony Day is also a day where we can celebrate inclusiveness and respect for others. The students in Year 6 have planned a range of activites. Keep an eye out on twitter for some photos of the day.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Hi everyone,

We have been having a great term one in 5/6S! We’ve been busy getting to know each other and learning so many incredible things.

Week 8 in Our Classroom

This week the children will be writing and publishing a narrative to put into a class book. They will be using the techniques we have focused on so far this term to write engaging stories. The published story will be on your child's device. Ask to have a read. We will come back to narrative writng later in the year. Over the next couple of weeks we will be moving on to persuasive writing.

Week 7 in Our Classroom

This week we have discussed ideas for the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence which occurs on the 18th of March. The kids came up with some great activities to do throughout the day. It's great to give the kids some ownership over what they would like to do to raise awareness about this very important issue.

Our narrative writing is improving and this week we will be focusing on adding speech to our texts in a meaningful and accurate way. Next week we will publish a narrative using all the techniques we have learnt this term.
